Kira Elizabeth Schlepp began designing at an early age experimenting with making clothes for her stuffed animals. She soon advanced from gluing to sewing thus resulting in her foremost passion in life. She continued advancing in her hobby but it wasn’t until halfway through college, while majoring in art history that she realized she could turn it into a career. During her design and art classes she realized that she had a special interest in designing wedding gowns. She advanced her studies by doing an internship in New York City with two separate bridal designers. She finally graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in clothing design and art.

Kira’s work experience has also contributed to her love of the wedding world. She worked at David’s Bridal for three years switching off between bridal consultant and alterations specialist. Here she learned both the art of altering wedding gowns and how to work with the special bride clientele. After moving to Charleston, South Carolina she began developing her business and soon found herself partnered with a couture bridal shop in town. She currently lives in Mount Pleasant and works to develop her collection of wedding gowns and bridal accessories. She continues to do bridal alterations and her gowns and accessories can be seen at Belle Couture Bridal.
